Dental Implants

Tooth and root implant

Dental implant is a firmly fixed artificial tooth root replacement and it is widely accepted and successfully used in modern dentristry. It offers the possibility to replace lost tooth with a titanium screw incorporated into the bone and a crown placed on top. This modern technique enables dentists to offer solutions for a number of initial conditions, whether it is a single missing tooth, several missing teeth in a row, the lack of practically all the teeth or a completely toothless jaw. It can even help fix removable dentures, which as a result will improve comfort, aesthetic appearance and functionality.

Bone substitution surgery

After tooth extraction, due to the biological process of decaying bone tissue with old age, it can happen that there is not sufficient natural bony substance available in the jaw. In this case, bone regeneration will be necessary to retain the implant safely. This takes place either six months before the dental implant is inserted or directly in the course of implantation. It is also possible to use the patient’s own bone with a so-called bone graft technique, when bony tissue taken from the patient's own jawbone and a bone augmentation mineral is used to help regeneration.

Tooth and root extraction

Dental extraction is performed for a variety of reasons, tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to prevent restoration is the most frequent, and extraction of permanent teeth to make space for orthodontic treatment is also common.

Simple extractions are performed on teeth that are visible in the mounth, usually under local anaesthetic. Surgical extractions involve the removal of teeth that cannot be easily accessed, either because it is broken under the gum line or it has not erupted fully.

At ART MEDIC DENT, you can choose to undergo these procedures under general anaesthesia.

Root-end resection

In cases, when the root canal treatments were performed too late or inefficiently, inflammation at the base of the root can cause autoimmune diseases that result in other serious health problems, like hair loss or arthritis. This chronic inflammatory tissue is extracted surgically together with the root canal during an orthodontic surgery. Depending on the position of the root , the procedure can be complex and professionally demanding. ART MEDIC DENT dentists are well-trained and experienced to carry out these procedures.

Wisdom tooth extraction

Wisdom teeth growing abnormally can cause pain and discomfort. It is common that wisdom teeth get obstructed and become angled either forward or backward, growing into the roots of other teeth. The other most widely experienced occurence is, when wisdom tooth fails to erupt completely through the gum bed and there is a soft tissue flap around the tooth. It is difficult to clean, and often it causes infections due to the accumulated bacteria. Symptoms include swelling and redness of the gum, difficulty in opening the mouth, a bad odor or taste in the mouth, and pain in the general area which may also run down the entire lower jaw, ear or possibly the neck. If left untreated, it can progress to a much more severe infection. It is important to prevent further problems, so have your wisdom teeth checked out today. At ART MEDIC DENT, you can choose to undergo these procedures under general anaesthesia.
